STAGE MANAGER

Under the general supervision of Center’s Director of Theatrical Productions, this position is responsible for the day to day handling of the stage activities and functions relating to scheduled performances and public or private events.

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  Stage Operations
 
Manages the daily aspects of production needs, onstage and backstage.
 
Coordinates the use of Center by touring productions and personnel.
 
Oversees local stage and technical crews during production load ins, work calls, rehearsals, performances, and load outs.
 
Manages information and paperwork for local crew members regarding: employment, payroll, work scheduling, and event reports.
 
Manages and coordinate the receiving and distribution of production and related deliveries.
 
Maintains production and stage related equipment and tools.
 
Assists in production technical needs (lighting, sound, or staging design and/or operation).
     
  Administrative
 
Coordinates with Director of Theatrical Productions in setting technical schedules and work calls for productions while in Center.
 
Coordinates stage preparation and restoration requirements for events.
 
Manages and processes crew time sheets.
 
Generates and processes event reports (accident, problem, technical failure, performance, etc.)
     
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of four years of stage management experience, two of which emphasis in touring Broadway productions. 
Experienced in professional stage technical work practices and procedures. 
A Bachelors Degree in theater arts is a plus.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of technical stage production, including: carpentry, rigging, electrical, lighting, and sound.
Ability to manage the stage aspects of presenting major touring theatrical productions.
Ability to manage the work of a large group of stage crew members.
Experience with implementing requirements of stage labor agreements.
Knowledge of general and stage safety practices including occupational hazards.
Knowledge of proper implementation of many different emergency procedures.
Knowledge of proper use of power tools, hand tools, and stage equipment.
Ability to work with amateur groups in their productions.
Functional knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
 
SALARY
Commensurate with experience.
